Fintech Series A on the Rise

As many of you know, the fintech vertical has seen explosive growth over the past few years. H2 compiled data from series A raises in the US and EU and looked at median pre-money valuation and total capital invested from 2009 - 2015. (See chart - all figures in USD) 

A few of the key takeaways:

  • 2014 to 2015 saw a 284% increase in capital invested and an 81% increase in pre-money valuations. 
  • Over the past 5 years, capital invested in fintech has soared over 2089%. 
  • In 2015, median pre-money valuations in seed rounds were 6.4m, compared to 26.3m in series A, and 46.4m in series B.
